New Zealand and Australia’s declaration of war on Fiji
Before we go any further, neither New Zealand nor Australia have actually declared war on Fiji. Fiji just seems to think they have. See http://www.stuff.co.nz/world/south-pacific/5130063/Fiji-launches-attack-on-New-Zealand and http://goo.gl/eYYjz for details of what I’m on about. Also, the sensational title is in response to the sensational headline on stuff.co.nz
From what I can gather, the Fijian Government is accusing New Zealand and Australia of trying to stop democratic elections in Fiji. Funny that both New Zealand and Australia have been pushing for democratic elections since the 2006 coup d’état. Fiji is also saying that Samoa is involved because they are sending boats to some disputed islands between New Zealand and Fiji. Makes sense……..
I would also like to know how Fiji is on a road to democracy. They are suggesting it takes eight years to have elections? If you wanted to, you could hold elections tomorrow. Who does the Fijian Government think they are kidding?
